We are exclusively a state-approved partner school with the public school districts and do not accept private placements. All students must have an IEP and be placed by their Child Study Team. Holmstead School serves an average population of 55 students, ages 13-18, grades 8-12, about evenly divided between male and female, from 52 towns in 5 counties. We also offer an Extended School Year Program (ESY).
Our process is fairly straightforward. These are the steps:
- Student is classified by district Child Study Team (CST)
- District and parents release reports to Holmstead
- Director and clinical staff review referral
- If appropriate, an intake is arranged for parent(s)/guardian, student, and Child Study Team (CST) Case Manager. (all parties, including the student, attend the intake).
